The purpose of the Data Visualisation System was to give staff and visitors to the Daily Mail Group at-a-glance insights of traffic to the dailymail.co.uk, pulling from various APIs (the UI was built in Flash). The dashboard was displayed within the Daily Mail HQ and other buildings throughout the world and was intended to generate conversation, build understanding and possibly even inform editorial decisions.
The dashboard created a buzz. At the time (2012) it positioned the Daily Mail at the forefront of digital innovation and generated information about the number of online users on various media platforms at any time in any place throughout the world. My role was design direction, working with a team of developers and a Flash expert on UX.
